From now on you can use a new service at the
OnlineGamesNet. This Service is
MemoServ.
MemoServ is a Service which will help you to send messages to other user even if they are offline or if you don't know their current nickname. You can execute
MemoServ commands using
- _COMMAND (in the Channel)
- /ms COMMAND (enter it somewhere)
- /MemoServ COMMAND (enter it somewhere)
- /msg MemoServ@Services.OGamenet.net COMMAND (enter it somewhere)
With
MemoServ you can send messages to other user using "/ms SEND
AuthServ-Account> ". The * in front of the AuthServ-Account is important if the user is offline or his nick is uknown. In this case the message will directly be send to the AuthServ-Account. To read messages you recieved use "/ms READ ID". You can finde the ID at the notice you got when MemoServ recieved a message for you:
-MemoServ- You have a new message from NN. (ID: 0)
or if you type "/ms LIST" to show up your Inbox overview.
This overview will look like:
-MemoServ- ID From Time Sent
-MemoServ- 0 NN 08:19 PM, 02/24/2009
-MemoServ- Found 1 matches.
You will see the ID, who send the message and when it was sent.
To delete messages (and clean up your inbox) use "/ms DELETE ID". Or "/ms DELETE ALL" to delete all your messages but you have to confirm it using "/ms DELETE * CONFIRM".
There are different types, how, and whether you want to be noticed. You can set this using "/ms SET ". Therefore you can use the settings "AUTHNOTIFY" (You'll get a info if you got new messages when you log in) and "NOTIFY" (You'll get a notice when a new message is recieved). Furthermore the option "PRIVATE" recieves messages from all users or from users with at least one common channel with access when activated.
Also there are a few other commands to inform you about MemoServ. "EXPIRY" shows when old messages will expire, "STATUS" shows the status of MemoServ and "VERSION" the current Version.
You can only use MemoServ if you are logged in at AuthServ.
Hopefully this Service will help you to communicate at OnlineGamesNet and we wish you a lot of Fun.
